BATMAN!

My daughter was invited to a 5-year-old boy's birthday party recently. He loves to dress up and all action heros so I whipped up a Batman card with two sheets of my daughter's craft paper.

BATMAN!

The style was modeled after modern minimalist comic posters. There was plenty of room on the inside for the pink marker she chose to sign her name. It's our way of compromising since she wanted to make him a princess card.

  1. Great idea and so easy to make! Cute story, too. I wonder how he would have liked the princess version? :)

  2. Very cool. It reminds me of birthday cards I helped a student make, long ago: his and hers ski sweaters as the back and fron of the card, linked with yarn, and a round card that looked like the A and B sides of the "Abbey Road" Beatles album. (Told you it was a long time ago!)

  3. Great card - love the angular, minimalist batman (and love your 'compromise' on the princess card! Ha!)

  4. Hehe. I don't know if he would have been as happy with the pink, purple and princesses. We are working on another for a little boy and she can't quite grasp the idea that not everyone adores castles, princesses and jewelry as much as she does.

  6. Thanks, Emily. We're working on another one for another little boy and I'm afraid it's been taken over by pink & purple.
